Hard disk failed

My NAS1200s said that a disk has failed. In disk manager it shows that 2 disks has a yellow ! mark. How do i know which physical disks these are?

Re: Hard disk failed

Remove the front face plate to the 1200s and look at the 4 drives installed. One of the disks should have a amber or red LED; color for healthy disks is green.

I am attaching two files (see subsequent reply for the 2d file) to assist you in the effort to determine whether you have a bad disk and if so, what to do next.

Re: Hard disk failed

Thanks for those.

The thing is that there is no amber/red light on the front, even after i've removed the front piece. In Disk Manager it still shows Failed Redundancy and 2 disks shows with 2 yellow ! marks.

Any more ideas?

Re: Hard disk failed

In the information I sent, in Disk Manager, have you attempted to re-activate the failed disks? I think you highlight the failed disk, right click, and re-activate.
