NAS 1000s Write performance
We have a NAS 1000s that is part of a Windows 2000 Domain. We have approximately 400 desktops running Windows XP (all standard image).
Problem: Copying data from desktops to the NAS box is MUCH slower than copying from the NAS box to the desktops. We copied a 30 MB file from the NAS box to a desktop and it took approximately 10 seconds. We copied the same file back and it took about 20 minutes. It doesn't matter which desktop we use (all desktops have the same image). We have tested about 4-5 and get the same performance.
All network cards are set to 100M b/s Full Duplex.
Any suggestions.

Re: NAS 1000s Write performance
This has to be an infrastructure/client issue as this issue has not been seen and has not been reproduced. You might want to try to copy the 30Meg file from XP to XP and see if you get similar long copy times. Also, do you have an Antivirus package that does aggressive scanning of incoming files installed?
