NAS B2000 Veritas Backup

Our NAS B2000 is currently using veritas 9.0 and is being used as the primary backup device. I want to backup our exchange 5.5 server onto this device. In order to backup the Information store and mailboxes veritas recommend installing the exchange admin application onto the backup server (NAS b2000). The installation of the exchange server 5.5 admin program is always terminated by an error. The exchange server is a standard edition. Has anyone come across this issue.
