Re: NAS (Network Attached Storage) and Serviceguard

MC/ServiceGuard only supports HP9000 Servers.

However, there is a NAS solution that supports MC/ServiceGuard: The HP Surestore NAS XP Network Attached Storage solution is based on the XP Disk Arrays, HP 9000 Servers, and other standard components to enable shared file access for enterprise environments.

Here is a link where you can learn more about the XP NAS solution: http://www.storage.hp.com/disk_arrays/highend/xpsolutions/nas.html
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, but I already found this one.
Was looking for a cheaper solution.

Re: NAS (Network Attached Storage) and Serviceguard

CIFS, the 'Common Internet File System' is a fancy name for Microsoft style networking (SMB / Netbios / Lan Manager / ASU / SAMBA)

CIFS is an option on most systems.

Many low-end NAS devices can use either CIFS (NT style) or NFS (UX style) network connections.

There are of course issues with security, and network bandwidth and so forth.

I don't know whether you could call this supported on any HPUX environment - but if you are creative you might be able to construct a scenario to meet your needs.

Good Luck.
Omniback and NT problems? double check name resolution, DNS/HOSTS...
