3 ways HPE Aruba Networking makes private 5G simpler for enterprises
HPE Aruba Networking makes private 5G simpler for enterprises with a solution that can be purchased, deployed, and managed in a similar way as Wi-Fi.
Enterprises are beginning to recognize how the unique capabilities of private cellular can enable new and innovative use cases, particularly those that need wide area coverage (either indoor or outdoor), high-speed mobility, and predictable QoS. In addition, the growing availability of shared or lightly licensed spectrum is paving the way for more private 5G (and 4G/LTE) deployments worldwide.
Yet obstacles to more widespread adoption still exist, mostly in the form of legacy solutions that are too complex for enterprise IT teams that lack 3GPP cellular expertise and can’t invest the time and budget to gain expertise. For private 5G to be adopted more broadly, a different approach is needed whereby vendor solutions consider enterprise simplicity as a fundamental principle, not an afterthought.
That’s why HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G was designed with enterprises in mind. Our solution is based on market leading mobile core technology and includes all the components needed for an end-to-end private 5G network.
Here are three ways HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G makes it easier for enterprises to purchase, deploy, and manage a private 5G network, without extensive training or cellular expertise.
- It’s a full stack, single vendor solution
It starts with the process of acquiring the solution. Instead of piecing together a private 5G network using components and services from several different vendors and service providers, an enterprise can get everything they need—4G/5G mobile core, hardware appliance, small cell radios, SIMs/eSIMs, and cloud management dashboard—with HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G turnkey deployment option. For US-based customers, this option also includes an integrated spectrum access system (SAS) to protect incumbents on the CBRS spectrum band.
Unlike highly customized or scaled-down telco solutions, HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G makes it easy to deploy our mature and proven mobile core software. In our turnkey deployment, the software is preinstalled and preconfigured on an HPE server that’s designed to meet the functionality, performance, and scalability requirements of most enterprise use cases (no additional customization needed).
- It provides a streamlined and intuitive management experience
Simplicity is also applied at the management layer through the HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G Management Dashboard, an intuitive, cloud-based platform that enables IT admins to set up and manage a private 5G network in a very similar way as Wi-Fi. With an easy-to-navigate user interface, admins can quickly assess what’s happening on the private 5G network, such as the status of networks, subscribers, radios, and data traffic, with expanded views that provide insight into statistics and trends over time.
When it comes to setting up a new mobile core, the dashboard takes complex cellular configuration tasks, such as N2/S1 configuration, SBI/diameter configuration and routing, SUPI/IMSI private identity and services management, and DNN/APN Segregation and QoS definition, and simplifies them into a 7-step wizard that allows a new mobile core network to be provisioned in a matter of minutes. Check out the HPE Discover 2025 Private 5G Demo video from HPE Discover to see just how quick and easy it is to set up a new private 5G network using the dashboard.
Managing subscribers (also referred to as SIMs) is also incredibly easy using the dashboard. In addition to being able to view or change the parameters of existing subscribers/SIMs in just a few clicks, the dashboard includes a feature whereby hundreds of new subscribers (or more if necessary) can be added and provisioned simply by uploading a .csv or .txt file.
- It will have management integration with Wi-Fi in the future
In addition to the enterprise simplicity of the solution itself, HPE Aruba Networking is also tackling complexity as it relates to the growing number of management platforms network teams must learn and use on a daily basis. Our long-term vision is to integrate the management of private 5G into HPE Aruba Networking Central, making things even easier for IT admins by providing a single platform for management and orchestration, as well as shared identity and policy services, of the entire wireless (and wired) network, regardless of connection type. No other enterprise networking vendor has this vision.
HPE Aruba Networking is focused on removing the barriers and complexity that have hindered the deployment of private cellular networks. With HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G, enterprises can address even the most challenging wireless use cases with a solution that simplifies the purchase, deployment, and management of private cellular.
