Boost your digital experience monitoring with UXI Agent for Windows and macOS
This blog written by Divya Rajpal, PLM, HPE Aruba Networking UXI
Optimizing digital experience for end users starts with understanding network and application performance from their perspective. This requires a continuous monitoring of network, application, and device health, and rapidly troubleshooting when they impact the end user digital experience. HPE Aruba Networking User Experience Insight has been solving these challenges for years using hardware sensors, and now we are taking the digital experience monitoring closer to end users (on every connected device) with software-based monitoring in HPE Aruba Networking UXI Agent with support for Windows, macOS, and Android.
What is HPE Aruba Networking UXI Agent?
HPE Aruba Networking UXI Agent is installed on end-user devices to monitor device health and run synthetic tests to track network and application performance. It captures issues, analyzes root causes, and provides real-time alerts to IT teams for rapid troubleshooting. UXI Agent provides end-to-end digital experience monitoring, combining insights from network, application, and device performance into a UXI dashboard.
Key performance metrics measured by UXI Agent:
i) Wi-Fi performance:
- Metrics: signal (RSSI), transmission (Tx) rate, BSSID, band, and channel width.
- Environment: channel overlap, surrounding SSIDs, channel width, and signal strength of nearby APs.
ii: App performance:
- Metrics: DNS lookup time, HTTP GET elapsed time, packet loss, latency rate, jitter, and gateway reachability.
iii) Device performance:
- Resource Utilization: CPU, memory, and battery utilization,
- Device metadata: OS version, device model, network adapter information
When deployed on Windows and macOS devices, the HPE Aruba Networking UXI Agent provides a portal for end users, highlighting a summary of network and application health metrics, including:
i): Current network status: Displays issues in red and working well status in green
ii): Tested Applications: Overview of apps being monitored on the device
iii): Essential Device and Network Information: OS, ISP, PHY Mode, and more
Historical data for root cause analysis
Like HPE Aruba Networking UXI Sensor, HPE Aruba Networking UXI Agent offers back-in-time analysis, enabling IT teams to time travel backwards to validate network changes and analyze historical performance data for root cause analysis. No more struggling to replicate intermittent issues —access to historical logs identifies when and why issues occurred, improving efficiency in troubleshooting and issue resolution.
UXI Agent for Windows and macOS: Troubleshooting made simple
The new UXI agent for Windows and macOS is designed to accelerate troubleshooting by providing IT teams with real-time access to critical network, application, and device performance metrics.
Watch how the HPE Aruba Networking UXI Agent works
HPE Aruba Networking UXI Sensor is the ideal solution for global businesses to monitor and troubleshoot network and application performance. When sensors and agents are used together, they provide a comprehensive view of end-user activity, allowing IT teams to: baseline network performance, test network health 24x7, trend network performance data, do efficient network planning, and export network and application performance data on big data platforms via UXI data push destination feature.
