Maximizing solution performance with HPE OEM Solutions
In the telecommunications industry, information is the business. But it’s not just the information transmitted from one user to another or between people and machines. Deep within each data packet is valuable information about where that transmission originated, its destination, how long it lasted, what applications it touched, if the quality was good or poor, and more.
Niometrics enables telecommunication companies to extract and analyze that data and produce fine-grained insights to improve customer experience, understand usage patterns, develop new product strategies, and identify emerging market opportunities. Niometrics analytics even helps telcos assure optimal network services for people working from home during the COVID-19 crisis. The HPE OEM program plays a key role in making all this possible.
For Niometrics, performance is critical. Its software can inspect and extract network data at a rate of 200 Gbps—and its engineers are constantly pushing for more. That’s why the company builds its evolved deep packet inspection (DPI) appliance on HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 servers acquired through the HPE OEM program.
Marie Brulé, Director of Marketing Communications at Niometrics, says, “The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 servers offer a unique combination of CPU power and persistent memory that matches our performance demands. Using this hardware, we can keep pushing the envelope of software performance to deliver more value to our clients.
The efficient footprint of HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 servers also helps Niometrics’ customers save money. Brulé notes, “Because we can provide more with less by using the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 servers, we can reduce our solutions’ footprint into our clients’ data centers, thus requiring less power and cooling, which we estimated would translate into more than $500,000 per year just on energy savings for one of our clients.”
As an OEM partner, Niometrics has the advantage of competitive pricing that’s locked in for extended time frames—value that is directly passed along to the company’s customers. With customers across Asia, the Pacific Rim, and the Middle East, Niometrics also benefits from the global delivery capabilities Hewlett Packard Enterprise brings to the table.
Looking ahead, Niometrics sees additional opportunities through the HPE OEM program, including a leasing option from HPE Financial Services. This will provide greater flexibility for Niometrics to invest and continue growing its business while reducing financial strains and managing cash flow more efficiently.
