10.10 to 11.00 Upgrade License Issue

I wish to upgrade a D310 from 10.10 to 11.00.

The box has hardware support, but no software support. I do, however, have a full 11.00 cd-set, for another server.

Will I have to enter any codewords to install the upgrade. It isn't mentioned in the documentation, but I wanted to check.

Additionally, I also have MirrorDisk installed. Will I have to re-enter any codewords after the install? As I have no idea what they are.

Thanks

Chris

Chris,

you do not need a codeword for the OS upgrade.

You will need a codeword to install MirrorDisk from your 11.x application CD's
Your codeword from an old 10.X MirrorDisk license will not work

Hi, chris

you no need any codeword to do upgrade. But let me first tell you, till now i haven't heard anybody succeeded in upgrading including me. So better to do cold install. Also software which are in 10.2 like c/c++ compilers, dce etc wouldn't work when you upgrade to 11.0

Re: 10.10 to 11.00 Upgrade License Issue

Ravi,

now you know someone who successfully upgraded HPUX.

I did upgrades from 10.20 to 11.0
and from 11.0 on 11i.

When you got good patched and maintained systems upgrades are not that diffucult.

Re: 10.10 to 11.00 Upgrade License Issue

Rainer,

Would you have any idea if I will have to repurchase MirrorDisk to still be able to use it, or do I just have to get a new codeword. I am concerned because I do not have software support on this machine.

Re: 10.10 to 11.00 Upgrade License Issue

Chris,

as far as I remember MirrorDisk kept on working after the upgrade, so there was no need to install the 11.X version.

But pleases dont't take this as a guarantee.

Regards
Rainer
