10.20 ignite server

Is there any reason you shouldn't (or can't) use a 10.20 servers as your ignite server for all environments (10.20 and 11.x)?

Re: 10.20 ignite server

Compatibility issues. 10.20 is not aware of 11.x whereas 11.x is aware of previous versions, aka backwards compatible.

There is not a 10.20 version available that can administer 11.x systems. There are 11.x versions that can administer 11.x and 10.x systems.

Versions:
{A|B} =
A - Supports HP-UX 10.x Ignite-UX servers installing HP-UX 10.x targets.
B - Supports HP-UX 11.0 Ignite-UX servers installing HP-UX 11i, 11.0 and 10.x targets.

Re: 10.20 ignite server

We used a 10.20 system to Ignite several 11.0 systems with no problems. It's just a matter of setting up the config files properly. We did however move our Ignite server to 11.0 as soon as we could. Also our current 11.0 Ignite server has no problem Igniting 10.20 and 11.11 systems.
