11.0 Dec 2002 patch install
I have a dumb question to ask.
We are having some issues with our system and were told to update our system to the latest patch (Dec 2002 Quality Pack).
Our problem is that this patch bundle is 300Mb and our /tmp is only 200Mb......
Can I download this file to my pc and burn it to a cdrom...and then install from the cd????
Or is there another directory that I can use other than /tmp?
TIA
Cindy

Re: 11.0 Dec 2002 patch install
You can burn it to CD or you can put it in another directory. I like putting it in a large directory, and then going into swinstall and specifying that path and filename for the depot. It works great. You don't have to run them from /tmp.

Despite the install instructions, you can put it wherever you want. I always use /var/patches because I oversize my /var at install time.

Re: 11.0 Dec 2002 patch install
I have one called /download, got the patches by download and installed from there.
I needed them to deal with some nasty oracle issues, so I couldn't wait for the physical cd.
Hmmm.
Wonder where that puppy is, ordered two or three weeks ago.
