11.11 64bit, lanadmin shows "Inbound Errors"

We are running Oracle 10g on an rp5470 running HP-UX 11.11 64bit. Some Oracle clients connected to a W2K Terminal Server are locking up with a message that says "Protocol Error".

At the same time, I see many "Inbound Errors" in lanadmin for the active NIC. See the output below:

LAN INTERFACE STATUS DISPLAY
Wed, Jun 21,2006 12:03:56

PPA Number = 2
Description = lan2 HP A5230A/B5509BA PCI 10/100Base-TX Addon [100BASE-TX,FD,M
Type (value) = ethernet-csmacd(6)
MTU Size = 1500
Speed = 100000000
Station Address = 0x1083fb8a4d
Administration Status (value) = up(1)
Operation Status (value) = up(1)
Last Change = 152489154
Inbound Octets = 4116436126
Inbound Unicast Packets = 510190394
Inbound Non-Unicast Packets = 26033
Inbound Discards = 0
Inbound Errors = 45590
Inbound Unknown Protocols = 142
Outbound Octets = 492652262
Outbound Unicast Packets = 975286252
Outbound Non-Unicast Packets = 9416
Outbound Discards = 0
Outbound Errors = 0
Outbound Queue Length = 0
Specific = 655367

As a percentage of total Inbound Octets, it's not that high, but looking at my other servers, I see most are 0 or less that 5. I am suspicious of this because of the Oracle problems. Any help or experience with this would be appreciated.

Re: 11.11 64bit, lanadmin shows "Inbound Errors"

Nevermind...

It was a mismatched auto-neg setting between the server and the switch. My network admin told me it was set one way, but he thought I was in a different port on the Cisco. The server was set to 100FD MANUAL and the port on the switch was set to AUTO_NEGOTIATE.

Thanks to anyone who may have begun to respond to this.

This is why hardcoding is a bad idea these days :)
