Solutioni dont understand what do you mean .
there is 4 os for 11i
1. Operating Environment
2. Enterprise Operating Environment
3. Mission Critical Operating Environment
4. Technical Operating Environment
the OE is the base 11i and the other os contects products .
the core of 11i is the OE , but if you will install a diff. os then the OE you will have diff. product install

I'm just talking about the regular OE.. During my install... I had the option [on the interactive install menu] of choosing the core os (disk one) or the entire "operating environment" which needed disk 2... what's the difference?

got it .
when you choose to install the OE option instend of the OS it will also install all the software that with the OE env.
if you will choose the OS it will install only the hp-ux system
also giving you a nice pdf file about it
