11 Stale PE's

Hello Friends,
I received an EMS alert for one of the disks. On investigating, i found it had 11 stale PE's. I have attached the output of ioscan, pvdisplay, lvdisplay, dmesg etc in the notepad file. Kindly advise me what should be done because i am new to this. Thanks in advance.

Friends,
I had issued the command dd on the disk. However, i see the stale PE's have become 74. What should be done?

Re: 11 Stale PE's

Replace the disk. This is a VERY good indication that the disk is going bad.

Hi Ashish,

You say that your stale PE's count is increasing, just chech whether your mirror is out of sync and if yes try with a vgsync or lvsync and after that check the number of stale pe's else apart from these, replacing looks to be a better choice to me...

Re: 11 Stale PE's

For the product id you can check out by ioscan -fn or check out the information through mstm.
