11i backwards compatible to 11.0?
I believe I know the answer to this (try it), but I'll ask anyway, will software that runs on 11.0 run on 11i? The reason I ask is we sell a software developing tool that's a extended version of the basic programming language called PRO/5(previouslly known as BBx).

Re: 11i backwards compatible to 11.0?
Hi Randy:
I'll even ask a better one, will software writeen on 10.20 run on 11.11 - the real version for 11i. The answer to both is yes. Moreover, I run a product called UnForm which has a bundled version of PRO/5. The 10.20 version, the 11.0 version, and the 11.11 version code are the same. NOTE: Code compiled on 11.11 is not gauranteed to be downwardly compatible.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: 11i backwards compatible to 11.0?
My experience is varied.
Example: snarf, a patch ftp tool I use to get patches. The 11.00 depots will work on 11.11
So will ghostscript.
It really depends on how the depot and software was built. If it uses OS features that changed, you've got trouble.
