11i LAN ignite via boot helper trouble

I am trying to get a system imaged using the golden image process. I have been successfull imaging a server on the same subnet, but am having trouble via boot helper. Using B.4.4.30 on both the ignite server and boot helper. Both the local system that worked and the remote one failing via boot helper are identical rp7410's. Here is the console output (X.X.X.X substitutions for security):
--------------------------------------
Main Menu: Enter command or menu > boot lan.X.X.X.X install

BCH Directed LAN Path: X.X.X.X

Do you wish to stop at the ISL prompt prior to booting? (y/n) >> n

Initializing boot Device.

Boot IO Dependent Code (IODC) Revision 4

Boot Path Initialized.

HARD Booted.

ISL Revision A.00.43 Apr 12, 2000

ISL booting hpux (;0)/boot/INSTALL

Boot
: lan(1/0/1/0/0/4/0;0)/boot/WINSTALL
lan(1/0/1/0/0/4/0;0)/boot/WINSTALL: cannot open, or not executable
--------------------------------------
Any ideas appreciated...
Thanks,
-Chad

Re: 11i LAN ignite via boot helper trouble

Hi Chad,

Try this link,

http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000067229894

The itrc doc id is UIUXKBRC00010364.

Hope this helps.

Re: 11i LAN ignite via boot helper trouble

I'll have our network guys look into that. However, if that indeed is the problem, I doubt I will be able to influence this global network to change the STP settings.

Are there any other options other than an ignite server at each location?

Thanks,
-Chad

Re: 11i LAN ignite via boot helper trouble

Chad,

I have had this trouble when using a Fiber Lan card. Could you please verify that you are not using the fiber card and booting of the 100 Mb card on the core I/o. In addition to this please check the duplexity. It should be set to auto negotiate on the switch in case it is a 100 M Card

Thanks

Hari

Re: 11i LAN ignite via boot helper trouble

NO, I am using the core io lan....
I got my 5430's to boot and install no problem on the same subnet using the same boot helper. But the 7410 is still having the same issue. Seems this problem is isolated to this type of host?

Chad,
In addition to the duplexity could you please advice settings for spanning tree protocol.

Thanks

Hari
