16-user license

Hi,

I am migrating a HP-UX to another HP-box. I see that a 16-user license is installed (by invoking swlist). In total 28 users are created at this box. THe box am i am migrating to only has a two-user license. However I can loging with four telnet-sessions to this box.
What is exactly the use of this user-license?

Re: 16-user license

Hi:

The now-outdated user license counted the console as one connection/license; hard-wired devices as one each and network connections as one (only). The free product, 'UNLIMUSERLIC' can be loaded to obviate the license count:

Re: 16-user license

Hi,

If you are using dumb terminals then this Licencing applies.
for telnet you can use as much as you want.

infact one user for console and another is for ethernet so no probs....

Re: 16-user license

Yap,
The 16 license are not for telnet. It for dumb terminal, dial in and console etc...

Again nothing to do with telnet.
