1Gbit lan card connectivity

Hello,
HP-UX 11.0, N4000
If I have 2 servers and each one of them have an available A4926-60001 (1Gbit fibre channel lan cards), Could I connect them directly (without a hub or switch in the middle)? Would I need a special cable? "optical terminators"?
Thanks in advance,
Luis

Re: 1Gbit lan card connectivity

Yes, all you'll need is a crossover cable instead of a standard Cat 5 patch cable.

Thanks Paul,
Do you know what's the part number for this cable? Or how do I order it?

Hi, Luis, I don't know P/N, but you can attach directly a FC cable to both NIC's, if this doesn't work, change in one side two connectors.

Sorry not FC cable (is the same, but you're working with ehertnet, not Fibre channel), Fibre cable orange.
