64-bit OS - three types to choose during installation
Hello,
I had installed HP-UX 11i. Configuring parameters before installation there were 3 different 64bit types of OS in Environments to choose. Could anyone explain the differences between them?
(I chose first one from the list (it was probably default) and it was not "..Basic 64bit.." but different one - don't remember).
thx in advance,
Chris

Re: 64-bit OS - three types to choose during installation
Not having a CD handy, I pull this one from memory:
I recall there being a few choices on OE operating environment.:
Base OE, which is the OS and minimal addition features. This is what essentially comes with the hardware, the License to Use(LTU)
Enterprise OE, which had to be purchased, includes Online JFS, PRM, Service Guard and increased support.
Mission Critical OE, also purchased as an add on which includes almost every tool HP offers for the OS, on top of whats in the Enterprise OE.
