712/60 token ring error
hi,
when I boot up my HP 712/60 running HP-UX 10.20, the system periodically gives me a "DISASTER" error message to my terminal,
<2303> Token Ring card has detected signal problems while adding itself to the token ring...
which might me right as the token-ring connector isnt used, but I use etherenet which works just fine.
is there a way to disable the card entirely?
thanks, Paulus

Re: 712/60 token ring error
Do a lanscan and look for anything that says 802.5 and see what the lanid is. Then look in /etc/rc.config.d for that lan card. You can also down the card using ifconfig or sam

Hi,
You can disable the card through SAM. Just go to the Network configuration and disable the network card. Make sure that you won't do anything with the ethernet card.
HTH,
