745 on console server
This has probably been asked numerous times, but I can't seem to find how to make the serial port the default console, especially when not using an HP device. My Suns default to ttya when there's no keyboard attached, but I must be missing something on the HP.
I'll be rack-mounting an old 9K/745 and will need to lose the graphics head. I'll be attaching the box to an Annex terminal server. Trying it on a 715 with just a Wyse dumb terminal, I can set up the tty port to get a console login prompt when the system is already up, but it won't even boot without the keyboard AND monitor connected.
Please...what's the trick?
TIA

Re: 745 on console server
I have the same problem but no keyboard to fit that version of hpil. Min is a 715/80 and I attach a multisync VGA to the machine and get the messages "Keyboard error- boot halted" I love these older HP boxes by this one has me stumped.
