8-way and 16-way server nomenclature used to specify number of cpu in the box . Right ??

parstatus -C â Cell and processor summaries for all cells in the server complex.
parstatus -V -c# â Detailed processor information for the specified cell (-c# where # is the cell number).
ioscan -C processor â HP-UX only. Processor HP-UX Hardware Paths for all configured processors in all active cells in the local nPartition.
mpsched -s â HP-UX B.11.23 only. Processor and "locality domain" summary for all configured processors in all active cells in the local nPartition.

Those processors can be dual core now for extra processing power.

I guess your confusion has come from the dual-core processor and you wish to know if nomenclature has changed.
Now with dual core processors - 8 way will mean 4 dual-core processors accounting to 8 processors and 16 way will mean - 8 dual-core accounting to 16 processors.
I hope this is what you wanted to confirm.
