9iRac choice of cache fusion nic

How does oracle 9i rac choose which interface to use for the high speed cache fusion link? My primary, outside facing lan connections are 100M while the private interfaces are gig ethernet. The private interfaces are also used by SG for heartbeat. The DBAs, also being new to RAC don't know either.

Thanks
Gord

Re: 9iRac choice of cache fusion nic

By default, 9iRAC will use the same network interface for cache fusion as the one used to send a ping to the other instance. Normally, this is the same network interface as the one that is used for all other network traffic between the two systems.
There is a parameter CLUSTER_INTERCONNECTS that you can set in the init.ora file (or spfile). You can set this one to a specific IP-address on the local instance that 9iRAC has to use to find the other instance(s).
Use the option sid='' to set this CLUSTER_INTERCONNECTS parameter instance specific.

Hi,

from metalink:

Cluster_Interconnects is mentioned in the 9i RAC administration
guide as a Solaris specific parameter, is this the only platform
where this parameter is available ?
