A question about HP-UX 10.20

Hi all
My client told me that his B2000 workstation with HP-UX 10.20 installed can't boot successfully!
When system is powered on it begins to dump. When dumping complete it will automatically reboot again.
Can you tell me how to skip dumping?

Re: A question about HP-UX 10.20

When the system comes up look for error messages in /etc/rc.log and /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log. This might explain why the system is dumping before coming up.

You can try to boot the system in single user mode if that don't work yuo can try to recover from the CD.

Boot from OS cd and it will give you recover option.

Wang,

normaly when the system is dumping there is a harware fault (mostly memory).
Please try to logon the console and look at the console logs.

You'll have to look quickly at the messages prior to the crash dump. The most common reason is hardware failure - look for messages like HPMC or other error messages. You should be able to type CTRL-S to stop the display when you see something.
