A question about make_net_recovery

Hi all
I've got two unix server:System A and System B
Now I've successfully made a recovery archive using make_net_recovery from System A to System B.
But I don't know how to recover A from B using that archive.
Can you tell me in detail or give me some documents?
Thx in advance

Re: A question about make_net_recovery

Well, the main doc is:

http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-91049/ch11s02.html

Recovering using the Network for PA-RISC Clients
To recover a failed disk or volume group using the recovery image:

Boot the failed system using one of these methods (see â Booting PA-RISC Clients from the Console â ):

Use Ignite-UX after reboot with boot lan install.

Boot from an Ignite-UX server using bootsys if the client operating system is running.

Boot the failed client locally by using a boot tape previously created with make_boot_tape.

Do not interact with ISL.

If your Ignite-UX server supports installing more than one version of HP-UX, a target operating system menu will appear:

ISL booting hpux KernelPrompt "Choose Operating System to Install:" 1. target OS is B.11.002. target OS is B.11.113. target OS is B.11.23 PA4. Exit Choose Operating System to Install :At the client, from the main menu, select Install HP-UX.

Respond to the Network Configuration dialog box.

Respond to the UI Display Options dialog box (run at the Ignite-UX server or at a client.)

If working from the Ignite-UX server, select the client for the system to be recovered.

Select Install/New Install.

Select the recovery configuration to use, and then allow the recovery to continue.

Re: A question about make_net_recovery

Hey Geoff
I know what you mean
But I've got a problem that when I boot System A from System B and come into the Ignite-UX there is no recovery archive entry.
Should I do some configuration on System B?

Re: A question about make_net_recovery

On systemB , is there anything in:

/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/systemA

Re: A question about make_net_recovery

Hey Geoff
I'm sorry to say that there is nothing in the directory you mentioned so what can I do now?

Re: A question about make_net_recovery

Well - if there is nothing in that directory - then perhaps your make_net_recovery wasn't succesful?

Are there any archives under /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives on systemB?

If not, then if systemA is down, then you will have to cold install and build from scratch. :(

On systemB, when you go into the Ignite GUI, do you see the archive for systemA there?

The GUI is accessed by running
/opt/ignite/bin/ignite
