a question about swap

I modify the swap priority from 1 to 2 in SAM successfully and i find the priority also changed in file
/etc/fstab

but when I issue command swapinfo,
it is still 1,not change.
could you tell me the answer for this strange question?thanks!

Re: a question about swap

Hi:

You will need to reboot to have your change take effect --- that is when the secondary swap is activated.

Re: a question about swap

There is no mechanism to change the priority on the fly - you will have to re-boot.

Re: a question about swap

As others have said - you need to reboot.

Swap on HP-UX can be added on the fly - but you can't change it on the fly.
