Re: A500 server booting problem

You have a hardware failure. Nothing you can do because the selftest has terminated. It's so early into the tests, I would suspect a processor board but it could be a memory controller or even a backplane. You'll need a service call from HP.

Hi Abhilash,

can u send output of SL logs

press ctrl B and select sl with no filter options

there will be multiple entries like log 0 log 1

the above logs are the chasis logs, also what firmware revision is your server PDC ?

Re: A500 server booting problem

Hi Abhilash,

I agree with Bill Hassell. The boot procedure terminated too early while testing the hardware and it looks more like a CPU board failure or the back plae failure. Yours test could not even reach till memory test.
I would suggest you to let HP handle from here after.

Re: A500 server booting problem

Thanks for the reply, i dnt have Hp support here because i am working for HP itself as internal system administrator.Any way let me swap the processor from another same kind of server and find out what is the exact problem. There are actually 2 processors in this m/c.I will get back once i do this.
