my workstation is hp9000 c100 and the os is hpux 10.10
there is a aduio device in it
when warning messages comes form the server(hp9000 d270)
the audio device in the workstation will produce voice
but these days
the workstation often produce "can't access audio hardware"
why?

Re: about audio!
run ioscan and look for unclaimed devices.
consider at least updating the box to HP-UX 10.20 so your are in the same century as the rest of us with regards to drivers and such.
If however it used to produce sound and no longer does, the card is probably bad, though you might want to check the cables.
