About cluster performance

Hi people,

Is it possible to configure two hp-ux 11 server in cluster (package running oracle db) to load-balance/dispatch oracle request accross the two servers ? does that sound silly ???

The purpose is to use both of the clustered server simultanously instead of the other node waiting to be active

HI I am not sure, Oracle to load balance you need to have Oracle RAC.

You need to have Oracle RAC and this can be done for sure...

Yeah, the answer is RAC. In the end though unless you are a big shop it isn't worth the cost to implement. Oracle's licensing is outrageous.
