I believe HP Griffin is a firewall product. (A brand name for Secuve TOS)

After a little research, HP Griffin is the name given to Secuve TOS when bundled with HP servers in Korea. It provides security for a HP server by supplying a secure kernel, firewall, trusted system, bells and whistles etc. The message is probably from an RC startup script, but may well be normal.
