about quota
OS 11.11
How to use quota?
I turn on 1G quotas for one username.
But the other username which has no quotas limit report reach the quotas when he used about 30G on a file system.
Why?

Re: about quota
as a start read "man 5 quota".
You have set the quota for one user as 1 Gb, but another user reports a quota at 30Gb ?
That will be down to the filesystem having a general quota of 30Gb.

Re: about quota
I would suggest the following.
Impose quotas globally with the exception of root.
If you have a user like oracle owning large databases, then set the quota high.
If possible to total of the quotas should be less than available disk space on the /home filesystem so that you are assured of not running out of space due to user error(s-------y).

Re: about quota
A user can't use bigger than 256GB disk space on VxFS 3.3 filesystem with 8k block size if quota is set and the user doesn't have soft/hard limit.
Patch PHKL_33377 will fix it.
