about the output of top command
the following is the output of top command on my computer
but i don't know what is the difference between %WCPU adn %CPU ?

Hi,
Well normally when I look at top,I look only at Load average or Load.This should give you a clear indication how you CPU like.If the load is above 3 for 1 processor ,it mean that
1) Your server need some upgrade on CPU
or
2) There are some process which goes crazy and eat up the cpu time.

I'm attaching a background performance measurement script.
It might get you a better picture, because you can adjust the data collection period.
You can also once you learn the script, just monitor certain aspects of performance.
