about the stm!
i want to enter stm
#mstm
Unable to start the STM User Interface.
Failed to initialize the main window.
Possible Causes:
Internal Application error.
why?
how can i find out the error messages about my cdrom

Then check that things like the diagnostic daemons are running. You might consider restarting them.
To get messages outside of stm, you have your logfile /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log or the dmesg command.

problem seems to be with your environment setting (TERM).
Try to run cstm and see.
or try to run stm on CDE windows.
