aCC licensing in HPUX 11
Hi
I've got some questions about licensing for
the aCC product in HPUX 11:
1. are licenses bought on a per-user or
per-machine basis?
2. is the licensing nodelocked (license
can only be used on the machine it
was installed on)? Or are floating/networked
licenses supported?
3. when one gets a codeword to install the
aCC product from the Application CD, does
that enable unlimited number of users to
use the compiler simultaneously (on the
machine where codeword was applied)? Or is
there some mechanism that controls the
number of users?
i'm new to HP and am trying to set up the
C++ compiler on some new HP servers we
bought.
thanks in advance

Re: aCC licensing in HPUX 11
Hi Victor,
The ANSI C compiler license is per machine, using the codeword protection on the Application CD.
As far as I know, it should allow unlimited number of users.
Anyway, we never had any issue like 'too many users' with it.
Best regards,
Dan

Hi,
You may also consider installing GNU C/C++, which is free, yet robust and full featured. See the following thread for more information on where to obtain, etc.
