acl configuration

when i try to setup ACL for the VXFS system its not accepting.
THE OS version is HP-UX 11.x

That is correct.
VXFS does not support ACL's until version 3.3, an dthere are new commands for that version.

This message is not because of HP-UX 11.x. VXFS won't support ACLs, I think you need to upgrade your vxfs to higher version.

JFS supports ACLs beginning with JFS 3.3, which is included with HP-UX 11i. JFS 3.3 is available for HP-UX 11.0 from the HP Software Depot, http://software.hp.com. See the HP JFS 3.3 and HP OnLineJFS 3.3 Release Notes (for HP-UX 11.00 only) on http://docs.hp.com for more information about installing JFS 3.3 on HP-UX 11.00 systems.
