Add node on MC Serviceguard with CA Eva
Hi guys,
i have a simple question, it is possible to add a new node , "on the fly", to a MC Serviceguard 11.20 with CA Eva?
In the cluster ASCII file i have the definition of all VG.
Im not sure that can be done without stop all packages , because looking cmapplyconf manual it seems that when im trying to add a new node cluster check the avability of all VG in all nodes, but some VG is not active on stand-by site.
here the extract of cmapplyconf man:
-k Using the -k option means that cmapplyconf only checks
disk connectivity to the LVM volume groups that are
identified in the ASCII file. This option does not exit
on Linux. Omitting the -k option (the default behavior)
means that cmapplyconf tests the connectivity of all
LVM volume group on all the cluster nodes. Using -k can
result in significantly faster operation of the
command. -k must be used with -C and can not be used
with -K
Thanks
Stefano

Re: Add node on MC Serviceguard with CA Eva
Hi Stefano,
Have a look, maybe it helps:
basically you can do the cmapplyconf while the cluster is up and ruunning, as the output of cmcheckconf has not complained and has actually told you it can do it.
Regards!
