Hi
in my environment we use Microsoft AD based network. All windows network printers controlled and accessed by domain authentication.
My HP-UX boxes are out of AD network. But for application need, we have to access to network printers.
Any exact docs for configuration steps will be very much appreciate.

Re: Add printers in microsoft AD based environment
Shalom,
This is very exacting hard work:
http://docs.hp.com/en/J4269-90076/ch02s05.html
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/internet/
http://docs.hp.com/en/B8725-90101/ch05s03.html
Why so many docs? Because there is Kerberos required, lots of intricacies, possibly Samba/CIFS integration.
Loads of fun.
Wand anybody?

Solution
printer info (ip addr, name) is in AD and you're not using LDAP on HPUX is what I read into the above.
One other, fairly straightforward, way of configuring is to add the neccessary printers to /etc/hosts....but that means you must update multiple locations if the IPs were to change. If DHCP is in use to config the printer IP, then this may not be feasible at all. It certainly isn't ideal, but it might get you going until you can implement all of the stuff SEP mentioned.
