Add RAM and 2nd Hard Disk

My HP box has 4GB HD and 128M ram, I wand to add 2nd HD and 256m RAM, could someone tell me how to do it? it is better to keep the current users files intact.

What kind of procedures are you looking for exactly. I assume the 4g hard drive is vg00.
Do you have user files in there?
You can add the memory and disk at the same time and do your LVM work once the hardware has been added. You may need to increase swap and dump by adding lvols. Provide more info and we'll see if we can give you what you're looking for.

Can you give us somemore information from what you need ? Just a few hints:
- OS version
- The installed version, is with volume groups or non-volume groups?
- ????

It would be real nice to know what hardware also.
It makes a big difference whether it is a 715 or a B, C, D, K, L, N, etc.

Memory is dependant on what memory is installed and how many slots are left for more.

You might have to remove your present memory and install larger chips.

Another thing we need is the model of the machine and a memory map. This will allow us to suggest the compatible disks and memory modules.
