Add/using Special Characters in HPUX

I would like to know how to add special character in oracle. The OS is HPUX 11.00. We would like to add the following characters for example ë, é, ö. The client is using reflection X and if you enter ALT 136 in the oracle form or even VI text editor it returns a J.

Shalom,

The oracle startup script has a character set variable where you set the default character set for the database.

You have a number of choices there to support special characters. The Oracle character sets themselves may need to be installed using the universal installer.
