once the hp CE installs the additional cpu, do i boot my target npar, use parstatus modify to add the cpu, then reboot my target npar?
.
in the old days when i had my vpars, to do operations like that i had to have the target vpar down and run the commands from a vpar that was booted.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Solution- Shutdown target nPar
- parmodify target nPar from another running nPar, with -B option to get the partition atumaticaly booted after the cell was added
- Booted all vpars but the target vPar an assign memory a cpu to it.
- Booted target vPar.
And all went ok.
Regards!

Re: adding a cpu to one of my npars 8600 platform
i don't have vpars on my 8600. i have 4 straight npars, so would your steps work the same?
1 ) install cpu
2) run parstatus modify from "another" npar to add the cpu
3) boot my target npar, and hopefully my cpu shows up.
