Adding a network_interface for lan failover

I have a 4 node cluster in production and 2 of the nodes do not have a network_interface for lan failover. I have been told that I will have to bring down the entire cluster then change the ascii file and apply. In the past, I was able to change cluster lock disk by removing the node and then adding it with the correct cluster lock disk device file. Can I use this same technique when adding a network_interface?

Re: Adding a network_interface for lan failover

yes. Removing a node from a cluster and re-adding it is a legitimate way to add standby LANs where there previously were none.

The procedure is outlined in this document:

TITLE: Removing and re-adding a node with the cluster up
a.k.a. Correcting a LAN NIC parameter in Serviceguard
