Re: Adding a new node to a exsiting cluster

if you have a serial heartbeat this will reuire you to halt the cluster and remove the serial hb. if you have a lock disk cluster and want to remove the lock disk then you also must stop the cluster.

1. connect the new node to the lock disk and import the volume group with the lock disk
2. do a cmquerycl -v -C ... -n .. -n .. -n ..
3. do a cmapplyconf with the new cluster.
4. import all of the volume groups in all of the packages and create mount points if other packages will be running on that node.

5. cmrunnode new node
6. add the node to the package config files that it will be running.
7. do a cmapplyconf of the packages that the other node will be running.

That is it.. IT can be done while the cluster is running but plan very very carefully.

Good luck
