I tried to install HP-UX on a HP visualize C200 maschine. I have 1 internal build in LAN card and before installation I installed 2 additional PCI-LAN Adapters T-Bas 10/100 MBit. Thgis was done because the internal card is not working any more.
After installation only the build in card is recognized by the system (lanscan) but "down" (This is reasonable due to the experience with this card before). Unfortunately no of the other cards is recognized as a LAN-Adapter by the system. Even sam does not see these cards. Only ioscan lists them as "unknown". How can I proceed to activate these two LAN-Adapters?
Thanks a lot for every hint!

SolutionIt could by posting your
# ioscan -fnC lan
or
# ioscan -fn
outputs
These then perhaps can be identified and the appropriate drivers installed, so they can be added to your system kernel. This is why you can't use them.

Re: Additional LAN Cards
from "ioscan -fn" do you see the kind of dribver ?
You suold see something like
btlan2 or btlan3
If you can see this, you have just to go the APP cd and find the correct driver to put in the kernel.
Another road i used: go and see the part number of the card.
It will be something like JA3324 ...
Search in the APP cd for a product named like that.

Massimo

Re: Additional LAN Cards
Run SAM, Kernel Configuration, Drivers.
This shows the diferent drives the system has.
Probable you see that btlanX is OUT. Mark the apropiate and add it to kernel.
Recompile kernel, reboot and the new lan cards would be actives.
HTH, Vicente.

Re: Additional LAN Cards
Your problem looks like the problem that i had once on C-class with 10.20,
If in ioscan you see the 2 unknown entrys
you must add to the kernel driver for this cards and i think it should be "btlan3",
if you would find it in the kernel, just the problem that i had, you will need to install the driver from HP application CD (i think #3)
LAN DRIVER FOR CLASS C etc.
Check this.
