ADVANCED SERVER

Hello all,
I am seeing major latency problems with Windows 2000 users accessing our HP9000 advanced server running on a K. Does any know of or have experienced latency problems of thiis nature. HP engineering claims they know of any problems of this type.

Thanks,
Bob Menefee

Re: ADVANCED SERVER

Robert,
How are the W2K users accessing the HP server?

Re: ADVANCED SERVER

Users are accessing the data through a share.
When we open a txt file we have no problems, however, if it is an excel, or a word document,
it takes about 2 minutes to open and sometimes hangs a workstation or an app. K class is running 10.20.

Re: ADVANCED SERVER

Hi Robert,

Check the gateway setting on the windows workstation. This will be under tcp/ip configuration of the network.

hope this helps.

Re: ADVANCED SERVER

Also,
HP informed us that they will stop support for win2000 in the unix world by next year. What about samba, any luck with this product?
