after executing lvremove PE's are not released
my system is rp3440,OS is 11.i
after executing lvremove successfully,i found PE's allocated to removed LV are not released.
when i run pvdisplay ,the o/p is as below.
04167 current ??? 03683
04168 current ??? 03684
04169 current ??? 03685
04170 current ??? 03686
04171 current ??? 03687
04172 current ??? 03688
04173 current ??? 03689
04174 current ??? 03690
04175 current ??? 03691
04176 current ??? 03692
pls help me to release the PE's.

The PE's still belong to the volume group. Unless these PE's comprise one entire physical volume, allowing you to vgreduce that PV from the VG, there is no way to release the PE's.

It looks like the data in the VGDA does not match the number of LV device files in that VG.
Check http://www5.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000065011327 if you have the access to ITRC site.

check vgdisplay and see if any other logical volume has contents on this disk.
