After Ignite-UX restore , system not booting !!!

Hi All ,

I have taken Ignite Backup in a DAT . using
# make_tape_recovery -A -d /dev/rmt/0m
HP-UX Ver B11.00

I am having Seagate 4.3 GB HDD.
My OS was working fine . Just for testing purpose i have restoreted the same tape after reboot. in the same HDD. It took arround 2 Hour.

After that i was booting from the Harddisk i.e prmary path , But system is not comming up !!

Can any one tell me what went wrong ,

This is why we test.

Did you get any prompts during the recovery, and how did you answer. Its possible to answer a question wrong and hose the entire recovery.

You need to try booting off that tape again and take note of every step you took if any of the install was interactive.

Its possible the tape creation didn't go well, you might want to check the log on that job.

If the tape proves unusable, an OS install may become necessary. Need more data to answer that one though.

Hi Steven , Thanks ,

I had choosen non-interactive mode of recovery. It found the Seagare HDD and did all the script work ..

It is not booting even

ISL>hpux -lq(;0)/stand/vmunix or
ISL> hpux -is too.

Well how to check the logs , do i need another system , and to check the DAT.

Any way i dont have problem to install it HP-UX 11.00 once again , as there was no data on the disk.

If you have old kernel you can try booting off that one

ISL> hpux /stand/vmunix.prev

Are you still getting this error. If no how did you fix the problem. We just made an ignite tape off of a partitioned rp8400. The one side built a new rp7420 no issues. The other partition build an rp4440 and we received the same panic code as yourself.
