Re: [ALERT] Sec. Vulnerability in passwd on HP-UX 11.00, 11.04, 11.11
PLATFORM: HP 9000 Servers running HP-UX releases 11.00 and 11.11 only.
But how sure can i be that this is hardware related. Can i be sure that this is not the case on my Stratus DHCP-400?

Re: [ALERT] Sec. Vulnerability in passwd on HP-UX 11.00, 11.04, 11.11
Check http://www.cert.org to see if they are reporting this as well.
If so it might as well be other platforms.
But this message is purely HP related and issued by HP.

Re: [ALERT] Sec. Vulnerability in passwd on HP-UX 11.00, 11.04, 11.11
Apart from CERT bulletins, you should subscribe also to the SANS Security Alert Consensus. It gives a very concise summary of any new security alerts for almost almost every OS along with details at the bottom.
For more information and subscription, access this link:
http://www.sans.org
Hope this helps. Regards.
