Allowing LDAP accounts to login to FTP

I have an HP-UX 11.31 server connected to AD with LDAP-UX that I'm trying to allow ldap users to login via ftp on.  I've read through the manpage for ftpaccess and I don't see anything specific for ldap users, or would I need to add something to pam.conf?

I'm not the first one to administer this box, so I wouldn't assume that anything is still set to default, so I'm not sure if there would be a security policy somewhere else that might be disallowing login currently.

Re: Allowing LDAP accounts to login to FTP

Long times ago I compiled and used a Pure-FTPd server, I know it has a fuylly support to LDAP: "LDAP authentication is also fully supported. Plaintext, Crypt, MD5, SMD5, SHA and SSHA crypto hash functions are implemented. Pure-FTPd was successfully tested with OpenLDAP and iPlanet Directory Server. It uses standard posixAccounts classes." (www.pureftpd.org). First of all, you must consult the doc: http://download.pureftpd.org/pure-ftpd/doc/README.LDAP.

Re: Allowing LDAP accounts to login to FTP

We configure the ftp stack in our /etc/pam.conf file to allow ldap for auth. That's about it really.
