Another ignite problem

I am running ignite backup of an RP server but its displaying the following message:

@(#)Ignite-UX Revision C.7.6.100
@(#)ignite/net_recovery (opt) Revision:
/branches/IUX_RA0806/ignite/src@73644 Last Modified: 2008-04-15
17:21:10 -0600 (Tue, 15 Apr 2008)

* Testing for necessary pax patch.
* Checking Versions of Ignite-UX filesets
* Scanning system for IO devices...

Any one can give me a clue please?

Re: Another ignite problem

what is your issue? the above looks normal.

is this the same session that you changed the tape on?

a different session? different server?

Re: Another ignite problem

It is a different server, whenever I issue the make_tape_recovery command, it goes for scanning the IOS devices and then just stuck there.

Re: Another ignite problem

How about the ignite version on both the server and the client? If the version of the client is higher than the server, then it happens like that.

Re: Another ignite problem

well, the versions won't be an issue if you are going to tape.

it almost sounds like you've got an NFS mounted filesystem that's not responding.

Re: Another ignite problem

Hi Waqar,

When it takes time in
* Scanning system for IO devices...
use ioscan -fn
check for all the devices whether its claimed/unclaimed/no_HW.

normally ignite backup will take 30 - 45 mins ,based on the disk/data size it varies.

check for the backup device . whether status is offline/online.

Thanks,
