Another quick question..

While trying to install the new patch bundle. I am getting errors stating "I dont have enough Privelege to run swinstall..usr swacl command." and when I use the swacl command I get failed rpc error". My system is not contacted to the network yet. is this the problem if so. how can I install the new patch bundle ?!?!

Re: Another quick question..

Hi Kevin,

Yes this is the problem, swinstall makes network connections to itself. Can you make a temporary network connection?

Kevin,

Is it impossible to connect to a network at this time and try again?

Really all you would need is a small hub, just to make it think it's on a network.

Re: Another quick question..

Have you got a spare hub/switch you can use? Or if the server's got more than one network card, you could connect it to itself with a crossover cable, temporarily configure both cards and away you go.

Re: Another quick question..

Make loopback device with local ip address (127.0.0.1) and write it to /etc/hosts file with your hostname. Try swinstall again...
