The Oracle9i R2 Release Notes for HP-UX Itanium B11.23 states on p. 3
"Operating System Software Requirements": Required executable: Requires Ansi c cc which
is located in /opt/ansic/bin.

An ls on the CD shows me (amongst others):
C-ANSI-C
However, with SAM SD Install Software selection this particular software is not visible (the amongst others are).

Could anyone inform me whether this is part of protected software that requires a codeword and customer ID?

Hi,

This product is not free in earlier HP-UX releases. I would be surprised if it was in 11.23 ... You need a codeword. You can even check here :

While you will not be able to see it using swinstall without a codeword, a simple swlist -s /cdrom will display the ANSI/C compiler package on an Applications CD. This is a codeword protected product and must be purchased. Note: ANSI C is not a C++ compiler so that if you need to use C++ you need to purchase aCC instead. aCC will compile both C++ and ANSI/C BUT not K&R C. The ANSI/C compiler speaks ANSI C and K&R C.

*after* you install ANSI-C you may want to add PHSS_29656
(and maybe PHSS_29657, PHSS_29658)
